The story
A roofer, not a
sales operation
Matt Leger has been working on roofs for over thirty years, most of that within a few miles of Bookham. The Surrey Shield Roofing Co is run from The Manse on Eastwick Road: a real address in the village, not a mailbox with a Surrey phone number redirecting to a call centre.
The work is residential. Homeowners with a leak they cannot place, a flat roof on an extension that has reached the end of its life, a chimney shedding mortar into the gutter, guttering that overflows down a wall every time it rains, or a roof that has simply had its day and needs stripping and re-covering.
Flat roofs and guttering are the two areas customers single the company out for most, but the honest description of the range is essentially anything to do with a roof: tiling, general repairs, chimney work, leadwork, uPVC fascias and soffits, moss removal and Velux roof window installation.
Because it is Matt on the roof and Matt writing the quote, nothing gets lost between the survey and the job.
